Degenerated Disc Stenosis and Sciatica Solution - Nora Lee Dabner

Nora Lee Dabner suffered a work-related tractor accident on February 12, 2002 that left her with disabling back injuries at the 3rd, 4th and 5th lumbar area. Images showed multiple degenerative discs resulting in lumbar stenosis. From 2002 to 2006, she went through many different forms of physical therapy to repair the sciatic pain, including Aqua-Aerobics, all to no avail. She then began taking Cortisone epidural shots, but her discomfort was too severe to continue.

She was unable to complete any of her activities of daily living (ADL) on a regular basis and was hampered by the fact that her pains would randomly flare up and incapacitate her. As the head of the household, Nora found that doing even the simplest things such as cooking meals, doing laundry and driving, were impossible tasks for her. She lost significant enjoyment for many parts of her life during this process.

In mid-2010, her pain and suffering reached a critical point. Her physician told her that she had “two holes in her back” and would need to undergo a procedure to have titanium rods placed in her back. Nora was worried about the surgery and prayed upon it, knowing that there had to be a better answer than undergoing surgery. One day while watching T.V, she saw information for the Illinois Back Institute. She felt this was her answer! She called to get more information and made an appointment for the free consultation. From there, she says, “Everything else was history.”

Prior to her therapy at Illinois Back Institute, Nora was having problems with her left leg pain, numbness and weakness when lying on her back. After sessions at the Illinois Back Institute, she began to feel like a new, rebuilt person. She regained her feeling in her leg and is now happily completing her activities of daily living. Nora has been active all her life as the manager for the Postal Service for 39 years and as an active member in her church as Head of the Mothers Board. Nora believes that the Illinois Back Institute has rebuilt her formerly damaged body, changed her life and has given her her life back!
